Prof. Dr. Jens Temmen has held the Chair of American Studies at KU since the summer semester of 2025.
The cultural and literary scholar brings to Eichstätt a wealth of research experience in Germany and abroad, with a focus on topics such as astro-culture and US imperialism. At the same time, Temmen emphasizes: “American Studies is not a US fan club.” In doing so, he makes clear what his research and teaching are all about: a critical examination of US history, culture, and the present.
