Rémy Bocquillon is a researcher and lecturer at the chair for General Sociology and Sociological Theories, based at the Catholic University Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (Germany). His research focuses on the possible combinations of sonic (aesthetic) practices and scientific research, mostly (but not exclusively) within sociology and asks how knowledge can be produced with sound, a thinking-with sound. His latest publications include his book Sound Formations: Towards a sociological thinking-with sound, and articles such as Taking and Making Place Through Sound (for Space and Culture) or Thinking-with Sound: Spatial and Epistemic Configurations (forthcoming). In his habilitation project, he investigates and experiments with the rhythmicality of social spatialisations and the possibility of an ecosophical practice of place.
