Nicole Schneider

Nicole Schneider is PhD candidate in American Studies at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. Her thesis is entitled “Visual Protest, Viral Images and Virtual Participation: Protest and Photography in the Contemporary Movement for Black Lives.” With her work focusing on photography studies, social movements, and antiprecarity protest, she received the Maximilian-Bickhoff-Scholarship from 2018 to 2021. In 2018, she was BAA-Fellow and Visiting Scholar at the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Abolition, and Resistance at Yale University and taught in the English department at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. In Eichstätt, she has co-organized conferences and lecture series entitled “A Mobile World Literature and the Return of Place” and “(Post-)Colonial Worlds.” Schneider studied Literary, Cultural, and Media Studies in Siegen, Tulsa (OK), and Eichstätt.
