María Martínez Casas

María Martínez Casas is a lecturer (Lektorin) of Spanish and Hispanic Cultures at the Language Center of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, and currently also serves as the chairperson of the German Association of Spanish Teachers in Bavaria. She studied classical and modern languages in Barcelona, Berlin and Eichstätt, specialising in foreign language teaching and learning. Her research areas include pluralistic approaches to languages and cultures, corpus linguistics and multimodal discourse analysis. Her PhD project focuses on the linguistic construction of local authenticity in pop rock lyrics in Spanish from a multidisciplinary approach (Linguistics, Sociology of Music, Cultural Studies).
