Julia von Sigsfeld

After completing her undergraduate studies in political sciences and cultural anthropology at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, Julia von Sigsfeld pursued a Masters‘ in Gender Studies at the London School of Economics. She completed her PhD, awarded by the Institute of Latin American Studies of the Freie Universität Berlin, in 2020 as a fellow of the international Research Training Group ‚Minor Cosmopolitanisms.‘ Her research interest lies in the sociology of knowledge, curation & museums. After 2.5 years as the research assistant of the director of the State Ethnnographic Collections Saxony, Julia von Sigsfeld is currently restitution coordinator of the Ethnological Museum Berlin/Asian Art Museum.
