Christiane Hoth de Olano is research assistant at the Chair of Latin American History at Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. She is writing her dissertation titled “Frontier Medicine: Practices, Knowledge and Science in Southern Chile (1883-1939)”. This research project makes inquiries into the practices and dynamics of knowledge in the field of healing and medicine. She was a DAAD scholar at the Medical Humanities Program, School of Medicine, at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Her research interests range from the history of science, as well as environmental history, to the cultures of museums and exhibitions.
