This interdisciplinary lecture series, organized by our faculty members Imke von Maur and Jens Temmen, explores the question: How do the new forms of fascism in the 21st century emerge? What spaces do they occupy—digitally, politically, and socially—and how, in turn, are they shaped by these spaces? And how do they transform our conceptions of democracy, the public sphere, and living together?
The speakers—Alberto Toscano (Simon Fraser University), Katrin Köppert (HU Berlin), Simon Strick, Anna-Verena Nosthoff & Felix Maschewski (University of Oldenburg + HU Berlin), and Dagmar Herzog (City University of New York) will examine 21st-century fascism as a spatial practice and discuss current manifestations with the audience from various academic perspectives.
