Fabian Ebeling studied European and Cultural Studies at KIT in Karlsruhe. He completed his master’s degree in Media Cultural Studies at the Bauhaus University Weimar. As editor-in-chief and co-editor, he was responsible for Die Epilog – Journal for Contemporary Culture, and completed a journalistic traineeship at Kulturaustausch – Journal for International Perspectives. He wrote and defended his dissertation on a Media History of Smart Cities in the first cohort of the DFG research training group “Practicing Place. Sociocultural Practices and Epistemic Configurations” at KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. He is currently employed at Prof. Dr. Robert Schmidt’s chair for Process Oriented Sociology at KU to write a grant proposal for a new research project. Fabian Ebeling is also a freelance author and journalist (taz, kaput – Magazin für Insolvenz und Pop, etc.), lecturer (media history, media theory, cultural techniques, historical urban and spatial research, etc.) and co-spokesperson of the Media History Working Group in the German Society for Media Studies (GfM).
